The National Park Of Bhitarkanika is a unique habitat of mangrove forests with numerous streams and mud plains located in the Kendrapara district of Orissa. Bhitarkanika, one of the largest ecological mangrove systems in India, is home to a diverse flora and fauna. Bhitarkanika, located between 86'-45 "to 87'17" east longitude and 20'-17 "to 20'-47" north latitude in the estuary of the Brahmani, Baitarani, Dhamra and Mahanadi river systems, has a unique attraction and a display of the most picturesque sites of nature. Bhitarkanika National Park is livehood habitat for various wildlife animals like leopard, jungle cat, hyena, spotted deer, sambar, porcupine, dolphin, saltwater crocodile, including partially white crocodile, python, royal cobra, lizards water monitors, aquatic turtles, sea turtles, kingfishers, wood peckers, calasus, bar-headed geese, brahminy ducks, reddish ducks, white-bellied sea eagles, terns, seagulls, wading birds and a variety of resident of wild

Entry points

Khola and Gupti are the two main entry points to enter the Bhitarkanika National Park. Visitors must take an entry permit from the forest control gate in Khola and Gupti.

Private boats and the Forest Department are available at both locations.
